Survey says: County salaries 8 percent less than market average

BOLIVIA—Brunswick County employee salaries are averaging 8 percent below market average.

That was the result of the salary study Dr. Jeff Ling, Evergreen Solutions executive vice president, presented to county commissioners on Jan. 8.

“That’s not take home 8 percent. It’s not an 8 percent raise,” Ling said after the meeting.

Ling explained to commissioners he wasn’t addressing individual salaries, he was explaining where Brunswick County job pay is when compared to other businesses that employ the same type of workers.
