Suspected gang member arrested in Leland

Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a man suspected in being in the Hispanic-based street gang “18th Street.”

Jose Ascencion Ibarra, 23, of 9591 Holly Hills Drive, Leland, was charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, one count of manufacture cocaine and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
