CALABASH—The Calabash Fire Department should be closer to construction of a new station as the county and towns it serves consider and approve resolutions for $1.5 million in tax-exempt financing.
Brunswick County approved a resolution in June. Calabash approved a resolution at a special called meeting Nov. 29.
The intent of the resolution was to help the fire department close on a loan for its new station at the corner of Persimmon and Thomasboro roads, where the old station was dismantled in early November.
