Teams compete in county Senior Bowls

The Brunswick County Senior Bowls were at South Brunswick High School on Nov. 20.

The J.V. Senior Bowl teams are made up of all 9-year-olds that will be aging out and moving on to the Senior Division. The Senior teams are made up of all 12-year-olds that will be aging out of the program.

Each year, one of the teams in each division is responsible for heading up the Senior Bowl Teams. The teams are on a rotation. 

Last year, the Leland Panthers headed up the Senior Bowl teams from the South Division and the Lockwood Folly Chiefs headed up the Senior Bowl teams from the West Division. 

This year, the Town Creek Bulldogs headed up the South teams and the Shallotte Pirates headed up the West teams. Even though one team is responsible for heading up the Senior Bowl teams each year; coaches from all teams are involved. Two coaches from each team in each division assist. This year’s coaches are below:

The J.V. Senior Bowl was between the 9-year-olds from the Brunswick Football League South Division and the Brunswick Football League West Division. The J.V. West won the game over the J.V. South 22-0.

The Senior Bowl was between the 12-year-olds from the Brunswick Football League South Division and the Brunswick Football League West Division. The West won the game over the South 19-6.

The Brunswick Football League South Division is made up of: Leland Jr. Panthers and Leland Panthers; Town Creek Jr. Bulldogs and Town Creek Bulldogs; and Southport Jr. Cougars and Southport Cougars.

The Brunswick Football League West Division is made up of: Lockwood Folly Jr. Chiefs and Lockwood Folly Chiefs; Shallotte Jr. Pirates and Shallotte Pirates; and Shallotte Jr. Bucs and Shallotte Bucs.
