Teen arrested for robbing sno-cone lady at gunpoint

A Longwood teenager is in custody at the Brunswick County Detention Center, charged with armed robbery.

Brunswick County Sheriff’s detective Chris Barbour said Demetrias Watson, 16, robbed a woman selling sno-cones at gunpoint Sunday afternoon in the Longwood community near Ash.

Watson was recently released from the detention center after being charged with assault with a deadly weapon in August.

At press time Tuesday, Watson remained at the detention center on a $100,000 secured bond.

Other incidents investigated by sheriff’s deputies include:

•Breaking and entering and larceny on Wendy Lane in Shallotte; suspect broke into victim’s car and stole money.

•Breaking and entering and larceny on Bonaparte Drive in Calabash; suspect entered victim’s residence and stole money.

•Larceny on Perch Court in Supply; suspect stole victim’s golf cart.

•Larceny and property damage on Dosher Cutoff Road in Southport; suspect damaged and stole part of a statue from a church.

•Breaking and entering and property damage on Waterloo Street in Ocean Isle Beach; suspect damaged victim’s porch screens.

•Breaking and entering, larceny and property damage on Elkin Street in Supply; suspect kicked in victim’s front door and stole a TV.

•Breaking and entering and property damage on Sasspan Drive in Shallotte; suspect kicked in victim’s door and entered the residence.

•Larceny of a motor vehicle on McMilly Road in Shallotte; suspect took victim’s keys when she was sleeping and took her car.

•Breaking and entering and property damage on Holden Beach Road in Shallotte; suspect pried open the side door of a business and entered the business.

•Larceny on Charlotte Avenue in Calabash; suspect took tag off victim’s vehicle.

•Larceny on Riverview Drive in Shallotte; suspect stole victim’s medication.

•Breaking and entering and property damage on Mockingbird Place; suspect pried open victim’s back window.

•Property damage on Rebel Trail in Supply; suspect damaged the rear glass of victim’s vehicle.

•Identity theft on Old Town Wynd in Leland; suspect used victim’s Social Security number.

•Motor vehicle rental fraud on Beach Drive in Calabash; suspect rented a van and has yet to return it to the rental company.

•Larceny of a firearm on Nags Head Road SW in Supply; suspect stole victim’s gun.

•Larceny on Turnpike Road in Supply; suspect stole 1,000 pounds of copper wire.

•Breaking and entering and property damage on Seaside Road in Sunset Beach; suspect cut lock and entered victim’s storage shed.

•Breaking and entering, larceny, breaking and entering to a coin machine and property damage on Holden Beach Road in Shallotte; suspect stole a candy machine and damaged a Coke machine.

•Property damage on East Lakeview Drive in Supply; suspect hit victim’s mailbox with vehicle.

•Property damage on Clubhouse Drive; suspect hit victim’s mailbox with vehicle.
