In September 2007 and again last week, two employees with Brunswick County Animal Services were truly heroes in the services they performed on my behalf.
Being an impossible lover of animals, someone who cannot resist feeding one or more that seems hungry or lost, these two employees rescued me from impossibly sad situations; namely, Colleen Patterson and Dewey Williams.
These two consoled me over and over again and somehow managed to guide me through an extremely difficult process on two occasions that spanned a week each. Neither Patterson nor Williams lost patience with me; extraordinary character traits considering the difficulties each of them face each day. They should be recognized by the Brunswick County Health Department for their patience, kindness and professionalism. Both individuals show empathy in every aspect of their work, and I will never forget them.
It is my opinion the most valuable assets an organization strives to possess are the employees who bring a superb reputation to that organization. It is also my opinion, after my interactions with Patterson and Williams, employees remotely resembling these two are nothing short of invaluable to the Brunswick County Health Department and to me, a citizen of Brunswick County.
