Too Much Sylvia takes the stage at Ocean Isle Beach concert series

Too Much Sylvia takes the stage this Friday to headline the summer concert series at Ocean Isle Beach.

From 6:30-8 p.m. this Friday, June 1, Too Much Sylvia will perform in the parking lot of the Museum of Coastal Carolina on Ocean Isle Beach.

The family friendly concert series if free, and the public is welcome.

Over at Holden Beach, Gold Rush will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at the pavilion on the end of Jordan Boulevard.

Battle of the bands at BSL

This Saturday, June 2, Boiling Spring Lakes Parks and Recreation department will host a battle of the bands.

The family-friendly event kicks off at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Spring Lakes Park, also known as Pine Lake.

Bring your lawn chairs for an afternoon of great music, food, ice cream and raffles.

The event is free, but you must purchase tickets to vote for your favorite bands. Voting tickets are $1 each or $5 for six tickets. Bands enter for free.

The winning band will win a $400 first-place prize. Second place will receive a $100 Walmart gift card.

All proceeds from the battle of the bands will benefit the prospective playground at the Boiling Spring Lakes Community Center.
