A tornado watch is in effect until 1.p.m. Monday for Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender Counties, according to the National Weather Service.
According to the service, Monday’s weather will be breezy with a west wind reaching speeds of 18 to 24 mph. The high for today is 71 degrees with a 70 percent chance of rain.
The low tonight is expected to hit 39, with winds reaching up to 23 mph.
The Weather Service also advises a moderate risk of rip currents, which will remain in effect throughout the evening.
