Town Creek elects student officers

The N.C. Primary isn’t the only election in town. Students at Town Creek Elementary School exercised their right to vote in an historic election of the first Student Government Association (SGA) officers in the school’s three-year history.
Fifth-grade teacher and SGA sponsor Michael Gifford said the time was right to encourage more student involvement.
“Every year, we are trying to evolve as a school,” he said. “We feel this is something beneficial for our students.”
Principal Helen Davis agreed.
