Tree ordinance upheld in Carolina Shores

CAROLINA SHORES—A Brunswick County small claims judgment has upheld the town’s tree ordinance.

Town administrator Linda Herncane, speaking at a town meeting last week, said the decision reached last month was the result of a small claims suit filed by the town earlier this year.

The defendant is Bill E. Lane, owner of Blue Border Travel Trailers at 9351 Ocean Highway West.

According to the complaint, the town’s building inspection department noticed construction activity had occurred at the site while inspecting an adjacent subdivision last July.
