From famous figures in history to influences in pop culture, African-American contributions to today’s society were honored by Union Elementary School at its Black History Program Friday.
The program began with the singing of The Black National Anthem and an invocation by Rev. Leo Stevenson.
The students then took over the program. First grader Deiona Stanley performed an interpretive dance to “Father Can You Hear Me?”
