Expect to pay more for pork now that a virus, which has created an epidemic in hog farms across the globe, has made its way to southeast North Carolina — including at least one Brunswick County farm.
The deadly porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDv) came into the United States last spring, said Funston Farms general farm manager Mark Green, who works in Winnabow.
