WEATHER UPDATE: Brunswick County upgraded to Tropical Storm Watch

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has upgraded Brunswick County to a tropical storm watch. A tropical storm watch is an announcement that tropical storm conditions (sustained winds of 39 to 73 mph) are possible within the specified area within 48 hours.

Emergency Services Director Anthony Marzano said on Friday afternoon the county is preparing for the storm.
