West Brunswick’s tennis team beat Jacksonville High 5-4 last Tuesday in Jacksonville.
“It was our first win, and it took up until the final doubles match for the match to be decided,” said West coach Bob Bell.
Brian Conness, Alex Humbert and Derek Leavitt won their singles matches to make it 3-3 going into doubles.
“Brian Conness’ win was huge, because to have a chance, either he or Caleb Hawkins was going to have to win a match, and Caleb lost a tight one 6-4, 6-3,” Bell said.
