West wins opener; South beats East Bladen

The West Brunswick girls’ tennis team opened its season by beating host West Bladen 9-0 Aug. 26  but losing 9-0 Monday to North Myrtle Beach at the Ocean Isle Beach Tennis Center.

“I am very happy with the progress of the team,” coach Scott Mehalick said. “We have 24 girls, which is fantastic.

“The first match against West Bladen was very solid all the way through the lineup.
