West Brunswick’s golf team finished fourth in the final standings of the Mideastern 3A/4A Conference after the seventh round last week at Jacksonville Country Club.
Hoggard High School won both the team and individual competition.
The league’s individual champion was Jonathan Miles, winning a 2-hole, sudden-death playoff over John Livingstone, after each finished with an all-conference scoring average of 74.2.
West Brunswick’s Ryan Bland finished 15th with an all-conference average of 84.2.
Brandon Holt and Lewis Pate also finished in the top 20. Holt was 18th and Pate 19th as each carded an all-conference scoring average of 86.2.
The final team standings for 2008 were: Hoggard 2,108, New Hanover 2,280, Ashley 2,349, West Brunswick 2,412, Laney 2,452, Jacksonville 2,483 and White Oak 2,836.
