Dave Cunningham of Carolina Shores was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, when he met legendary boxer Mohammad Ali. It was June 30, 1975.

In 1947, or maybe it was 1948, 16-year-old Charles Johnson of Ocean Isle Beach met Larry Fine, Moe Howard and Curly Howard, The Three Stooges. Johnson was working at the National Theatre in Greensboro at the time.
