To the editor: As a much younger man, I was greatly inspired by the inaugural address of President John F. Kennedy.
Among other things, he stated: “Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we will pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”
The current crop of presidential candidates, masquerading under the banner of the Democratic Party, has turned his declaration on its head.
