Carolina National sponsored the second annual Winding River’s Endless Day of Golf. This charity tournament, which benefits the Relay for Life in Brunswick County, was sponsored in part by senior golf pro Steve Beecroft and the Carolina National team. It is one of the premier fundraisers by Team Winding River.
Together, they helped raise more than $19,000 for cancer research, crushing last year’s total of $11,000. This would not have been possible without the help of many generous families, friends and neighbors.
This year there were 21 golfers who as a group played more than 900 holes of golf, with some teams playing more than 54 holes each. The top fundraisers of the group were Babs Scureman and Bob Hull, who together raised more than $3,700 dollars. Second place again was awarded to Celeste Korpon and Sally Burner, and rounding out the winners were Linda Gelinas and Beth Patria.
This tournament would not have been possible without the help of golf pro Steve Beecroft and The Tradition Golf Club at Carolina National. In addition, George Heil of Carolina National’s Plantation Grill provided lunch for all golfers. Prizes from Port City Java, Ricky Evans Galler and Oak Island Golf Course were awarded to the top winners. It was a fantastic day that exceeded all expectations.
