Bolstered by its second-place finish in the Battle at the Beach, the West Brunswick High School wrestling team won a dual and a tournament during the holiday break.
West routed Myrtle Beach 49-26 Dec. 16. These were West’s eight winners and weight class: 103, Dalton Walker, pin; 112, Dylan Bernier, pin; 119, Troy Ruane, pin; 130, Jake Boudreau, pin; 152, Deven Ruane, pin; 160, Antaun Miller, pin; 171, Joey Moreno, pin; 285, Dee Kent pin.
West then won the 10-team Lumberton tournament Dec. 20. Four West wrestlers won gold medals: 103, Jimmy Hegedus; 112, Dylan Bernier; 119, Troy Ruane; 152, Deven Ruane.
Three Trojans claimed silver: 130, Jake Boudreau; 135, Caleb Hawkins; 160, Antaun Miller.
Finishing fourth were 145 Bryan Murdaugh (145) and Richard Cooper (285).
West’s next dual is Jan. 7 at home against Ashley. The Trojans’ next tournament is Jan. 10 at North Brunswick.
