Wrestling resumes at Scorpion Classic

LELAND—Brunswick County’s three high school wrestling teams produced six individual champions and 13 medalists at an eight-team tournament on Saturday.

Topsail, one of the strongest 1A programs in the state, took first place in the annual Scorpion Heritage Classic with 195 points. The Pirates had wrestlers place in the top four in 12 of the 14 weight classes.

Cape Fear compiled 182 points and edged West Brunswick by half a point in the battle for second place.
