Milestones

  • Grahams celebrate 64th anniversary

     Deacon Jesse and Deaconess Pauline Graham of Shallotte celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary Nov. 15. They were married in 1950 in Conway, S.C. They have five children, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The couple raised their family in Ferrell, Pa., for 44 years before moving back to this area. Jesse Graham is the chairman deacon at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Shallotte.

  • Harris graduates

     Army Pvt. Aaron D. Harris has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

    During the nine weeks of training, Harris studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

  • Lewis graduates

     Army Spc. David K. Lewis, son of David R. Lewis of Leland, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

  • Todds announce birth

     Allen and Jessica Todd of Shallotte are the proud parents of a son, John Allen Todd, born at 1:12 p.m. Oct. 13 at Novant Health  Brunswick Medical Center, and weighing 8 pounds, 11 ounces and measuring 21 ½ inches in length. He joins a sister, Madilyn, 3. Maternal grandparents are Thea Barefoot and the late Wayne Edwards. Paternal grandparents are William and Wanda Todd.

  • Jenkins son born

     Leanna Edwards of Supply is the proud parent of a son, Bentley Jace Jenkins, born at 11:11 p.m. Oct. 3 at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, weighing 5 pounds and 13 ounces and measuring 18 inches in length. He joins brothers Justin, 8, Junior, 5, and sister Meleah, 1. Maternal grandparents are Thea Barefoot and the late Wayne Edwards.

  • Graveses announce birth

     Matthew and Danielle Graves of Supply are the proud parents of a daughter, Chelsea Denise Graves, born at 7:19 p.m. Sept. 27 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, weighing 7 pounds, 12 ounces and measuring 20 inches in length. She joins a sister, Reese Danielle Graves, 17 months. Maternal grandparent is Dee Boyd of Supply and paternal grandparents are Van and Judy Graves of Fritch, Texas. Great-grandparents are Joyce Sims of Supply and Fae Graves of Amarillo, Texas.

  • Neville birth

     Cody and Jessica Neville of Winnabow are the proud parents of a son, Luke Mark Neville, born at 1:48 p.m. Aug. 30 at Betty Cameron Women and Children’s Hospital weighing 8 pounds, 7 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches in length.

    He joins sister Emma age 21 months.

    Maternal grandparents are Mark and Jennifer McMahon of Wilmington.

    Paternal grandparents are Troy and Kathy Neville of Winnabow.

    Great-grandparents are David and Jayne Hoffman, Charles and Annell Dyckman and Marylin McKnight and Melba Neville.

  • Chestnut and Ingram marry

     Kelly Chestnut of Conway, S.C., and John William Ingram VI of Ash were married Sept. 20 in Ash.

    Rupert Porter officiated the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of LouAnn and Edward Chestnut of Conway, S.C.

    The groom is the son of Michelle and John William Ingram V and Shannon and Randy Ward of Ash.

    The bride was given in marriage by her father.

    Brittany Chestnut-Pribyl from Minnesota served as maid of honor.

  • Mary Farawell celebrates 100th birthday
  • Sellers reunion Oct. 18

     The descendants of Elisha Sellers (1867-1935) will have their annual family reunion beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in the fellowship hall of Supply Baptist Church on U.S. 17 in Supply. All family members are invited and encouraged to attend. Each family is asked to bring a basket of food to share, and any family updates since the last reunion.
