Milestones

Matthew and Theresa Korp of Ocean Isle Beach celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary at a party hosted by their children on July 16 at the MAC Center at Sea Trail Plantation in Sunset Beach. The couple was married in Belvidere, N.J., on Sept. 7, 1940. Since their marriage, they have lived in New Jersey, Florida and North Carolina. They have five children, 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Sarah Kathryn Hotop and Travis Lowell Tate, both of Stafford, Va., were married July 31 at St. Francis of Asissi Church in Triangle, Va.

The Rev. John Heffernan officiated.

The bride is the daughter of William and Diana Hotop of Ocean Isle Beach. The groom is the son of Tim and the late Joanne Tate.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Debby Hyduke and Martha Hess, sisters of the bride, served as maid/matron of honor.

Bridesmaid was Jamie Ritenour, friend of the bride.

Cheyenne Smith served as flower girl.

Webb and Christen Cox of Shallotte are the parents of a daughter, Emily Price Cox, born at 4:30 a.m. June 2 at Conway Medical Center.

She weighed 7 pounds, .08 ounces and measured 20 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Gail and Troy Price. Paternal grandparents are Joe and Ginny Cox.

Great-grandparents are Paul and Geneva Hardee.

Announcement is made of the forthcoming marriage of Joni Michelle Spencer of Ocean Isle Beach and Lance Harding III of Ocean Isle Beach. The bride-elect is a native of Amite County, Miss., and is the daughter of Jesse Lee and Robin Withrow of Wheeling, W.Va., and the late Tammy Jean Stanley. The groom is originally from Lumberton and is the son of Lance Jr. and Jackie Harding of Sunset Beach. A Jan. 22, 2011, wedding is planned in Lumberton.
