  • Ward birth

    Aaron Scott Ward and Rachel N. Swain Ward Sunset Beach are the parents of a son, Evan Josiah Ward, born at 11:33 a.m. July 13 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

    He joins a brother, Joseph Liam, 2.

    Maternal grandparents are Ennis and Marilyn Swain of Varnamtown.

    Paternal grandparents are Dewey and Rhonda Ward of Whiteville.

    Great-grandparents are George and Lola DeVault Swain and Joe and Zettie Galloway Singletary, all of Varnamtown; and Daniel and Mattie Ward and Herbert and Mary Ward, all of Whiteville.

  • Caison birth

    Richie and Serenity Caison are the parents of a daughter, Madison Elizabeth Caison, born at 8 a.m. June 8 at Columbus Regional Medical Center.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and measured 18 inches long.

    She joins a brother, Gavin, 3.

    Maternal grandparents are Lee and Lisa Harris of Shallotte.

    Paternal grandparents are Billy and Linda Caison of Supply.

    Great-grandparents are Janet Wicker of Fayetteville, Jean Harris of Fayetteville, Faye Gaskins of Fayetteville, and Lula King of Supply.

  • Osborne

    Renee and Andy Osborne of Ash are the parents of a son, Kyle Andrew Osborne, born June 4 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

    He weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and measured 19 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Bobby and Sandra Simmons of Ash.

    Paternal grandparents are Ricky and Donna Hawes of Ash and Wayne and Barbara Osborne of Old Dock.

    Great-grandparents are Clay and Katrina McCullen of Longwood, Bunt and Betty Simmons of Ash and Magdeline and Jinx Osborne and Sandra and Joseph Hewett 

  • Truesdales celebrate 68 years

     John and Sara Truesdale will celebrate their 68th anniversary July 22 with family and friends. The couple has four children, Ann, John II, Connie and Jack and their spouses, Dan, Peggy, Harold and Beth; seven grandchildren, seven-great-grandchildren and two ‘angels.‘

    Announcement is made of the forthcoming marriage of Kelly Tripp of Ash and Brian Long of Ash. The bride-elect is the daughter of Bill and Carrie Ann Tripp of Ash. The prospective groom is the son of Jimmy Long of Ash and Terry and Deloris Milliken of Ash. A July 25 wedding is planned at Friendship Baptist Church.

     Chalmers Fuller Champion of Shallotte and 1st Lt. Patrick Sean McCahill of Melbourne, Fla., were married May 15 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Morehead City with the Rev. John Pollock officiating.

    The bride is the daughter of Jerry Wayne and Cynthia Champion of Shallotte. The groom is the son of Francis X. McCahill III and Karen McCahill of Melbourne, Fla.

  • Mattutats celebrate 60 years

    Hank and Marilyn Mattutat of Carolina Shores for 22 years and formerly of Long Island, N.Y., will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary July 8. Hank was born and attended schools in the Bronx, N.Y., and Marilyn in Binghamton, N.Y. They are the parents of four, grandparents of nine and great-grandparents of one. They will celebrate the occasion in Florida with family and friends.

    Announcement is made of the forthcoming marriage of Ainsley Wood of Shallotte and Jacob Jorgensen of El Dorado Hills, Calif. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mike and Greta Wood of Shallotte. The prospective groom is the son of Jay and Angela Jorgensen of El Dorado Hills, Calif. A July 1 wedding is planned at the Latter-day Saints Temple in Washington, D.C. A July 2 reception is planned at the Ocean Isle Beach Community Center.

The prospective groom is the son of Judy Michael of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and the late Reed Michael. An Aug. 6 wedding is planned at Bennett Farm in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
