    Robert and Donna Prevatte of Ocean Isle Beach are the parents of a son, Braydon Avery Prevatte, born at 1:05 a.m. June 6 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

    He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and measured 19 inches long.

    He joins a brother, Blake, 2.

    Maternal grandparents are Harry and Faye Wilkes of Ocean Isle Beach.

    Paternal grandparents are Steve and Debbie Prevatte of Sunset Beach.

    Great-grandparents are Lillian Oliver of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Mildred Thompson of Tabor City.

  • Gordon birth

    Kiersten and Brendan Gordon of Supply are the parents of twins, Harper Elizabeth Gordon and Kennedy Suzanna Gordon, born at 2:57 p.m. at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

    Harper Elizabeth weighed 4 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 17 inches long. Kennedy Suzanna weighed 3 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 16 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Don and Judy Luff of Supply.

    Paternal grandparents are Teresa and Bob Bradbury of Frederick Md., and Joseph and Elizabeth Gordon of Urbana, Md.

    Great-grandparents are Edwin and Elizabeth Hahn of Sunset Beach.

    Jennifer Elizabeth Poole of Gibsonville and Christopher Kelly Bullard of Calabash were married May 17 on Ocean Isle Beach.

    The bride is the daughter of Ned and Katie Poole of Gibsonville. The groom is the son of Michael and Beverly Bullard of Calabash.

    The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her father and her black Labrador-mix, Barkley.

    The bride wore a handmade dress designed by Classic Bride in Davidson. She carried a bouquet of white gerbera daisies.

    He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and measured 19.5 inches long.

    He joins a brother, Brady, 5.

    Lorraine Hoffmann and Thomas Lynch Jr. were married Saturday, June 14, at the Little River, S.C., home of the groom’s sister, Loretta Dingee.

    The Rev. Jean Pelletier and his wife Fran officiated the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Dorothy Hoffmann of Ocean Isle Beach and the late Albert A. Hoffmann.

    The groom is the son of Thomas Lynch Sr. of Calabash and the late Ellen Lynch.

    The bride’s mother served as matron of honor, and the groom’s father served as best man.

    Ringbearer was Christopher McLean, the bride’s nephew.

  • Brookers celebrate 40 years

    Mr. and Mrs. Alex Brooker of Ocean Isle Beach are celebrating 40 years of marriage. Together since high school, they married on June 8, 1968, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Silver Spring, Md. The couple lived in Maryland, Virginia and New Hampshire while raising two children and having a successful 30-year career with Sears Roebuck & Company. In 2002, the couple moved South to enjoy retirement by the beach. They have two children and two grandchildren. The couple celebrated by taking a trip to New Orleans with close friends.
