  • Mercer-Rynearson

    Announcement is made of the forthcoming marriage of Melissa Ann Mercer of Clayton, formerly of Supply, to Adam Thomas Rynearson of Clayton. The bride-elect is the daughter of Wesley and Vickie Mercer of Shallotte and the granddaughter of the late Delcie Graley and Bob Graley, Janice Pridgen of Whiteville and John Mercer of Wilmington. She is a 2004 graduate of West Brunswick High School. The prospective groom is the son of Bob and Gina Fry of Raleigh and Roger Rynearson of Iowa and the grandson of Erica Worley and the late Dale Worley. A Nov.

  • Reynolds birth

    Brian and Lauren Reynolds of Ash are the parents of a son, Dylan Heath Reynolds, born at 12:37 p.m. Oct. 3 at Brunswick Community Hospital.

    He weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and measured  21 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Michael and Elise Pierce of Ocean Isle Beach.

    Paternal grandparents are Dewayne and Regina Reynolds of Lake Waccamaw.

    Great-grandparents are Brady and Jackie Little of Ash, Charles and Helda Reynolds of Lake Waccamaw, Edward and Sarah Pierce of Tennessee and Aline Pierce of Florida.

  • Brown-Todd

    Stacey Anne Brown and Jack O’Dell Todd were married Oct. 5 at Ocean Isle Beach.

    The bride is the daughter of Beth Johnson and John Fellner of Shallotte. The groom is the son of Jack and Wilma Todd of Ocean Isle Beach.

    The Rev. Lamar Boulware officiated the ceremony. Family and friends attended.

    The couple resides at Ocean Isle Beach.

  • Snyders celebrate 60 years

    Richard and Loretta Snyder of Sunset Beach will celebrate 60 years of marriage Oct. 17.

    The couple met in a delicatessen in Roosevelt, Long Island, N.Y., where Richard worked while attending high school.

    Richard enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1945 before the end of World War II. He served on the battleship “Iowa,” which berthed in Japan after the end of the war.

    Following his military discharge, Richard worked as a printer, beginning a lifelong career. He also worked for many years a as a maitre d' in the catering business.

  • Clewis birth

    Michael “Rock” and Beth Clewis of Boiling Spring Lakes are the parents of a daughter, Carly Ann Clewis, born at 2:17 p.m. Aug. 19 at Brunswick Community Hospital.

    She weighed 9 pounds, 15 ounces and measured 21 inches long.

    She joins a brother, Caison, 11.

    Maternal grandparents are Ann Caison of Supply and the late Edward Caison Jr.

    Paternal grandparents are Earl and Barbara Clewis of Southport.

    Great-grandparents are Mickey Robinson of Supply and Lucy Henry of Southport.

  • Johnson-Smith

    Mitchell and Cheryo Johnson Sr. of Waxhaw announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Maya Donnell Johnson, to Lamonte' Devon Smith of Athens, Ga. The prospective groom is the son of Darnell and Linda Smith of Charlotte and the grandson of the Rev. Vertis and Joyce Gause and Ola Jane Smith of Thomasboro. An Oct. 18 wedding is planned at Marvin AME Zion Church in Waxhaw. The couple will make their home in Athens.

    Shanna and Stephen Wilkes of Ocean Isle Beach are the parents of a daughter, Abbey McKenna Wilkes, born at 5:20 p.m. July 31 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

    She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces and measured 20 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Elon and Gail King of Ash.

    Paternal grandparents are Margaret Wilkes of Lowesville and Charles Wilkes of Valdese.

    Great-grandmother is Rebecca Hatchett of Hickory.

    Jarad and Lindi Ivey of Supply are the parents of a daughter, Sarah Marie Ivey, born at 11:36 p.m., July 15, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

    She weighed 5 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 18 inches long.

    She joins a brother, Jonathan, 3.

    Maternal grandparents are L.C. and Sandy Fulford of Supply. Paternal grandparents are Robert and Leisha Ivey of Supply.

    Great-grandparents are Novie Galloway and Bobbie Galloway, both of Supply.

    He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 21 inches long.

    He joins a brother, Dawson, 5.

    Maternal grandparents are Ronnie and Pat Little of Ash. Paternal grandparents are William and Pearl Todd of Longwood.
