  • Babson-Hockett

    Ashlie Babson and Ronald P. Hockett Jr. were married Saturday, April 4, on Ocean Isle Beach.

    The couple’s daughters, Lauren Frink, Katie Hockett and Bailey Lewis, served as attendants.

    The bride wore a mid-calf, silk dress with a lavender, green and coral tropical print.

    The groom wore a light tan silk pant with a mint green silk shirt.

    Attendants wore white sun dresses and rainbow flip-flops and carried bouquets of lavender roses, coral lillies, greenery and baby’s breath.

  • Turner birth

    T.J. and Tara Turner of Supply are the parents of a daughter, Shaianna Dawn Turner, born at 7 a.m. March 6 at Brunswick Community Hospital.

    She weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and measured 19 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Linda Thompson of Supply and Jackie and Brenda Cook of Winnabow.

    Paternal grandparents are Tommy and Cindy Turner of Winnabow.

    Great-grandparents are Annie Mae Thompson of Varnamtown and the late Pearl and Russell Cook.

  • Blackwell

    Teresa Wright and Travis Blackwell Jr. are the parents of a daughter, Brylee Morgan Blackwell, born at 9:24 p.m., March 25 at Brunswick Community Hospital.

    She weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 19 inches long.

    She joins a brother, Alex Reed Blackwell, 11.

    Maternal grandmother is Sylvia Brown of Thomasville.

    Paternal grandparents are the late Edna and Travis Blackwell Sr.

    Great-grandparents are the late Magaline and Herbert Jones and the late Edna and Lester Parish.

  • Hewetts celebrate 50 years

    Gerald and Faye Hewett celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 2 with a reception at Seaside Christian Fellowship Church, hosted by several family members. The couple has three sons, Jerry (deceased, 1976), Terry and Kelvin; and two grandchildren, Johnathan and Savannah. The couple was married Feb. 13, 1958.

  • Ward birth

    Aaron S. and Rachel N. Swain Ward of Sunset Beach are the parents of a son, Joseph Liam Ward, born at 10:21 a.m. Feb. 26 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

    He weighed 9 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 20.5 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Ennis and Marilyn Swain of Varnamtown.

    Paternal grandparents are Dewey and Rhonda Ward of Whiteville.

    Great-grandparents are George and Lola DeVault Swain, Joe and Zettie Galloway Singletary, all of Varnamtown; Daniel and Mattie Ward, Herbert and May Ward, all of Whiteville.

  • Evans-Frink

    Faith Evans and Derek Frink, both of Supply, were married Feb. 14 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor J.T. Johnson officiating.

    The bride is the daughter of Douglas K. Evans of Shallotte and Violet Andrews of Leland.

    The groom is the son of Lee Vance and Marjoire Lynn Frink of Supply.

    The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her father.

    Maid of honor was Brittany Reeves, the bride’s cousin. Bridesmaid was Kristy B. Marshburn, the bride’s cousin.

    David and Jill Fulwood of Ocean Isle Beach are the parents of a daughter, Mackenzie Katherine Fulwood, born at 2:15 p.m. Dec. 27, 2007, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 20 inches long.

    She joins a sister, Rachel, 3.

    Maternal grandparents are David and Mona Griffin of Mocksville.

    Paternal grandparents are Dennis and Mary Fulwood of Ocean Isle Beach.

    Great-grandfather is H.M. Fulwood of Ocean Isle Beach.

    Paul and Molly Kittinger of Calabash are the parents of a daughter, Kathryn McKenzie Kittinger, born at 3:43 p.m., March 11, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 20 inches long.

    She joins a brother, Andrew, 2 1/2.

    Maternal grandparents are Al and Vicki McKenzie of Castle Hayne.

    Paternal grandparents are Paul and Anne Kittinger of Fayetteville.

    Great-grandparents are Keith and Helen McKenzie of Rockingham and Madolyn Kittinger of Winston-Salem.

    Announcement is made of the forthcoming marriage of Shannon Leigh Michaels of Longs, S.C., and Jimmy Lennon McLamb of Calabash. The bride-elect is the daughter of Ralph and Janet Michaels of Gastonia. The prospective groom is the son of Jimmy and Gail McLamb of Calabash. An April 19 wedding is planned at Brunswick Plantation.

    Announcement is made of the forthcoming marriage of Tara Denise Gause of Ash and Jeremy Tyrome Livingston of Longs, S.C. The bride-elect is the daughter of James and Retha Gause of Ash. The prospective groom is the son of Tyrome and Carrie Nell Livingston of Longs. A May 17 wedding is planned at St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church in Little River, S.C. A reception is planned at North Myrtle Beach High School.
