    Announcement is made of the forthcoming marriage of Teresa Wright Hughes of Little River, S.C., and William B. West of Calabash. The bride-elect is the daughter of Donald and Shirley Wright of Wilmington. The prospective groom is the son of William B. West Sr. of Hamlet and the late Bessie Crow West. An April 13 wedding is planned at Living Stones Baptist Church in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

    Jennifer Ann Kirby of Supply and Kirk Joseph Worrell of Shallotte were married March 15 at Ocean View Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Supply by the Rev. R.C. Dixon and the Rev. Gerald Kirby.

    The bride is the daughter of Gerald and Wanda Kirby of Supply.

    The groom is the son of Livius and Mary Jo Worrell of Fayetteville.

    The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her father.

    Amanda Piver served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Kirby of Supply, the bride’s sister, and Megan Chestnut of Supply.

  • Morgan anniversary

    The children of Lamon Hodges and Christabelle Morgan will be celebrating their parents 60th wedding anniversary Saturday, March 29, at Lockwood Folly Community Building on Stanbury Road. The couple was married March 28, 1948.

    Amanda Kaye Gore and Clifton Wayne Black of Shallotte are the parents of a daughter, Kaycey Noelle Black, born at 1:32 p.m. Dec. 4, 2007 at Brunswick Community Hospital.

    She weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 18 inches long.

    She joins a half-brother, Camren Patrick Daley, 5.

    Maternal grandparents are Cleve and Sylvia Gore of Shallotte and Regina Gore of Blairsville, Va.

    Paternal grandparents are Wendy Black and Farion Black, both of Shallotte.

    Great-grandparents are Trudy Freeman of Calabash and Robert Lee Cheers and James Edwards, both of Shallotte.

  • Evans-Stephens

    Rebecca Rae Evans of Shallotte and Roy Edwin Stephens of Ash were united in marriage Feb. 16 by the Rev. Clayton Rivenbark.

    The bride is the daughter of Becky Owens of Shallotte.

    The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Edwin Stephens of Ash.

    The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her mother.

    She wore a long, ivory crepe back satin gown embellished with embroidered organza lace and sprinkled with pearls and sequins. A candy apple red sash draped the waist and fell the full length of the train.

    Her gown was designed and made by her grandmother.

    Ashleigh Corrin Williams and Frederick Devon Williams of Longwood were united in marriage Feb. 25 at the Brunswick County Courthouse.

    Martha Currie officiated.

    The bride is the daughter of Sharon W. Best (Jessie) of Longwood and Richard L. Stallings of Shallotte.

    The groom is the son of Geneva F. Williams (Ronald) and Johnnie M. Brown of Supply.

    Beth McCray and Eric Kerr are the parents of a son, Dominic Anthony Kerr, born at 8:37 p.m. Feb. 18 at Brunswick Community Hospital.

    He weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 21 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Sheila McCray of Supply and Tony McCray of Lumberton.

    Paternal grandmother is Cathy Kerr of Supply.

    Paternal great-grandparents are Jesse and Joyce Hardee of Laurinburg and Tyson Barber of Wagram. Maternal great-grandparents are W.K. and Shirley Lewis of Supply.
