The 26-year-old woman who claimed $88 million in winnings from the Powerball lottery in February was cited on drug charges during a search of her home July 23 in Shallotte.

Brunswick County sheriff’s deputies searched Fontella Marie Holmes’ residence on Boverie Street in the Rutledge community off Gray Bridge Road that night.

Holmes was cited on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Emily Flax said.
