Ash native Will Gore named Coast Guard Service Member of the Year

He grew up in Ash, graduated from West Brunswick High School in 2000, joined the National Guard in 2007 and has now been bestowed a national honor.

On July 12, Electrician’s Mate 1st Class and Brunswick County native William Gore, 35, received Military Times’ Coast Guardsman of the Year honors and recognition in Washington, D.C.

Gore was also welcomed by 7th District Congressman David Rouzer while he was in Washington for the Service Members of the Year awards ceremony.
