Defense leads West to victory against Stallions

SHALLOTTE — West Brunswick beat South Columbus 20-13 in a non-conference football game Friday, Aug. 28, and improved to 2-0 for the first time since 1997.

“I’m proud for fans, the school and the community,” said Kelly Williamson, who is in his first year as Trojan coach.

“For me, it’s let’s get better. We didn’t play very well tonight.”

Despite one blocked PAT, one interception, four fumbles and nine penalties — including unsportsmanlike conduct — the Trojans prevailed.
