Owen McDowell is entering his second season as the starting quarterback for the West Brunswick Trojans. McDowell, a senior, will assume more responsibilities on offense as West tries to replace Anthony “Bubba” McCray, who graduated in June and amassed more than 2,100 yards of total offense during the 2016 campaign.
County squads prepare for 2017 football campaign

 West Brunswick High School is coming off one of the most successful seasons in the last 20 years of the football program.

The Trojans, who enter their third season under the leadership of head coach Kelly Williamson, finished the 2016 campaign with a 9-4 record. They advanced to the second round of the NCHSAA 3A state playoffs before dropping a tight contest against Jacksonville.
