The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

•Larceny of a lawnmower from 809 Kimberly Ann Lane; a push mower loaned to a tenant was removed from the property when the residence was vacated.

•Lost wallet from the Walmart parking lot; victim may have dropped his wallet while pulling his keys out of his pocket in the parking lot.

ATMC recently awarded $25,000 in grant funds to 15 educators and community organizations serving Brunswick County students and residents. 

The cooperative honored recipients with a reception on Nov. 9 at ATMC’s corporate headquarters in Shallotte. Representatives from each school talked about the programs for which the grant funds are earmarked and how these grants will positively impact area students.

The East Carolina Bank (ECB) recently relocated to a new office at 6278 Beach Drive, Suite 1, in the Landing at Ocean Isle Beach. 

In celebration of the new office, ECB is hosting a month long grand-relocation celebration for its customers and is inviting customers to tour the facility and experience the new additional services the bank now has to offer.

The battle has just begun for two Brunswick County residents determined to stop the proposed North Carolina International Terminal (NCIT) port from becoming a reality.

Former members of No Port Southport, a grassroots group created solely to stop NCIT, Toby Bronstein and Mike Rice have created Save the Cape, Inc. as a permanent group.
