Walker named new chamber membership director
The Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce has named Jessica Walker as its membership director.
Born and raised in Rocky Mount, Walker attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, where she active in Eta Sigma Delta International Hospitality Management Society, National Kitchen and Bath Association and was involved in intramural sports.

Two years ago, Dosher Nursing Center was honored as “One of the Best Nursing Homes in America” in the February 2010 issue of US News & World Report magazine. In all, only 173 skilled nursing facilities were named to the honor out of the nation’s thousands of nursing homes.
In February this year, Dosher Nursing Center received an even higher honor by being named to the honor roll of the Best Nursing Homes in America, a distinction only given to 39 nursing homes out of the 15,500 facilities reviewed by U.S. News.

Regional Vendors’ Expo is March 3 at NBHS
The North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce will have its first Regional Area Vendors’ Expo (RAVE) from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at North Brunswick High School, highlighting the best of this area in an endeavor to introduce the community to local businesses and emphasize the importance of shopping local.

Bar Association will award scholarships
The Brunswick County Bar Association will award four $500 scholarships to graduating seniors at North Brunswick High School, South Brunswick High School, West Brunswick High School and Early College High School. Completed applications are available at the school guidance office at each high school and should be submitted to the school’s guidance counselor office by March 1.
