  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Larceny on Lockwood Folly Road in Bolivia; suspect stole items from victim’s home.

    •Breaking and entering and property damage on County Way in Carolina Shores; suspect broke victim’s windows and damaged golf carts.

    •Larceny and forgery on Boonesneck Road in Supply; suspect removed checks from victim’s vehicle, forged and cashed them.

  • Larceny, damages reported in Sunset Beach

    SUNSET BEACH—Police investigated a larceny and damages reported May 1.

    Someone broke into a Jeep on Waterway Park and stole a radio valued at $100, doing $200 worth of damages.

    Police also investigated damage to property reported April 28 on Dogwood Drive. A woman said a tire was cut.

     

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office drug report

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit charged with following suspects last week. The suspects and their charges, which are taken directly from arrest reports and citations, are:

    •Anthony Howard Graham, 39, of 1590 Morgan Road SW, Supply; charged with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    •Torriano Ikeen Fullwood, 31, of 379 Fieldview Lane SW, Supply; charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • SHALLOTTE CRIME REPORT

    Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated the following incidents last week.

    •Police charged Armando Flores, 30, of 4631 Sea Pines Drive, Southport, with assault on a female, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and vandalism. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center and placed on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

    •Police cited Michael J. Galon, 41, of Canonsburg, Pa., with driving 76 miles per hour in a 60-mph zone while subject to an impairing substance on U.S. 17 near Old Shallotte Road.

  • District Court Docket

    The following cases were adjudicated over four days of District Criminal Court on April 23, 24, 27 and 28 in Bolivia.

    Thursday, April 23

    Judge Jerry A. Jolly presided over the following cases with prosecutor Gina Essey and courtroom clerk Lisa Quick:

    Andrew Lloyd Barbiera, misdemeanor domestic violence protective order violation, Brunswick County Jail three days active with three days credit for time served.

  • SHALLOTTE CRIME REPORT

    Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated the following incidents last week.

    •Police charged Preston Windell Hill, 48, of 620 Mulberry St., Shallotte, with driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and no insurance on Main Street. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center and placed on a $1,000 secured bond.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office ACE roundup

    The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county.

    The ACE team conducts driving while impaired and driver’s license checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances. The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office K-9 Roundup

    The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

    From April 20-26, deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Enforcement Team answered 33 calls, issued 11 drug charges and wrote seven uniform citations.

    The following suspects were charged:

    •Carly Sue Turbeville, 31, of 1554 Tern Court, Shallotte; charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license revoked.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Larceny on Ocean Highway West in Sunset Beach; suspect took two packs of cigarettes without paying for them.

    •Breaking and entering and property damage on Bird Street in Shallotte; suspect damaged victim’s windows and entered residence.

    •Larceny on Turnpike Road in Supply; suspect stole copper wire from construction site.

  • District Court Docket

    The following cases were adjudicated over five days of District Criminal Court on April 15, 16, 17, 20 and 21 in Bolivia.

    Wednesday, April 15

    Judge Marion R. Warren presided over the following cases with prosecutor Cathi Radford and courtroom clerk and Lisa Quick:

    Pedro Antonio Alvarez, no operator’s license, Brunswick County Jail 10 days, suspended sentence 24 months, unsupervised probation 24 months, $150 and costs, not operate motor vehicle until licensed to do so, not violate any criminal laws; speeding 55 in a 35 zone, voluntarily dismissed.
