  • Holden Beach police reports

    Holden Beach Police officers investigated the following incidents and issued the following citations last week, which are taken directly from incident reports and citations:

    •Burglary and larceny from a motor vehicle was reported Oct. 8 at the east end beach access.

    •Larceny was reported Oct. 12 at an Ocean Boulevard West residence.

    •Sarah Jean Provost, 32, of 104 Doodley Lane, Shallotte, was cited for expired registration.

  • Superior Court

    The Brunswick County Superior Court under the direction of Judge Ola M. Lewis with prosecutors Chris Thomas, Erin Holden, Chris Gentry and Brooke Smith adjudicated the following cases during Superior Court sessions Oct. 5-9:

    Konda Lee Ballard, 28, of 1643 Cedar Hill Road, Leland; three counts possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, charges consolidated, NC Department of Corrections 4-5 months active, $245.50 costs, $50 jail fees, $450 attorney fee, $50 appointment fee, $1,800 lab fees, provide DNA sample, assessment/treatment-DART.

  • Grand jury returns indictments

    The Brunswick County Grand Jury under the direction of Judge Ola Lewis with prosecutor Rex Gore and courtroom clerk Michelle Warth returned the following indictments during a Superior Court session on Sept. 21:

    John Nicholas Bellamy, 31, of 4538 Creek Road, Southport; felony possession stolen motor vehicle.

    Hakeeme Brown, 20, of 1219 South 4th St., Wilmington; felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver heroin, felony conspiracy to sell/deliver heroin.

  • District Court Docket

    The following cases were adjudicated over five days of District Criminal Court on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, 2, 5 and 6 in Bolivia.

    Wednesday, Sept. 30

    Jerry A. Jolly presided over the following cases with prosecutor Cathi Radford and courtroom clerk and Lisa Quick:

    Sarah Elizabeth Allen, consume alcohol under 19, Brunswick County Jail 10 days active.

    Blake Taylor Batchelor, speeding 70 in a 55 zone, prayer for judgment continued and costs.

  • District Court Docket

    The following cases were adjudicated over two days of District Criminal Court on Oct. 12, 13 in Bolivia.

    Monday, Oct. 12

    Judge Jerry A. Jolly presided over the following cases with prosecutor Cathi Radford and courtroom clerk Jennifer Hearn:

    Timothy M. Baumgartner, hit/run fail to stop property damage, voluntarily dismissed.

    John Thomas Bordeaux, expired registration card/tag, canceled/revoked/suspended certificate/tag, operate vehicle no insurance, all voluntarily dismissed.

  • Grand jury returns indictments

    The Brunswick County Grand Jury under the direction of Judge Ola Lewis with prosecutor Rex Gore and courtroom clerk Michelle Warth returned the following indictments during a Superior Court session on Oct. 5:

    Shamus Alexander Bland, 26, of 610 Tryon Road, Shallotte; felony robbery with dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy robbery with dangerous weapon, felony assault with dangerous weapon serious injury.

    Ricky Dale Caison, 49, of 2770 Holden Beach Road, Supply; felony habitual felon.

  • SHALLOTTE CRIME REPORT

    Shallotte police charged the following people and investigated the following incidents during the past week. The information is taken directly from police reports.

    •Police charged Cameron McMullan Tucker, 38, of 807 Kimberly Ann Lane, with assault on a female. He was taken to Brunswick County Detention Center.

    •Police charged Jessie Jach Searson, 32, of 163 Savannah Road, Tabor City, with possession of fraudulent identification at Walmart. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $500 secured bond.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office K-9 roundup

    The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

    From Oct. 5-11, K-9 deputies answered 17 calls, wrote 13 uniform citations and made 12 drug arrests.

    Deputies patrolled the following communities: Wildwood Village, Carolina Shores, Shell Point Acres, Bent Tree, Lakewood and Magnolia Greens.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office drug report

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit charged the following suspects last week. The suspects and their charges, which are taken directly from arrest reports and citations, are:

    •Shiquetta Deshonda Banks, 20, of 3320 Amber Lane, Little River, S.C.; charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance, manufacture marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Breaking and entering on Mount Pisgah Road in Supply; suspect took a screen off victim’s front window.

    •Property damage on Lazy Acres Drive in Winnabow; suspect hit street sign and mailbox.

    •Breaking and entering, larceny and burglary on Tobago Drive in Southport; suspect entered victim’s residence and stole fishing equipment and a TV.
