    Holden Beach Police investigated the following incidents from Aug. 5-10, which are taken directly from police incident reports:

    •Larceny on Carolina Avenue.

    •Larceny on Sailfish Street.

    •Damage to real property on Ocean Boulevard West.

    •Burglary on Seaview Drive.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office drug report

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit made the following arrests last week. The suspects and their charges, which are taken directly from arrest reports and citations, are:

    •Jeremiah John McNeil, 26, of 380 Calabash Road, Calabash; charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Stolen bicycles recovered in Sunset Beach

    SUNSET BEACH—Police recovered two bicycles that were reported stolen at 40th Street.

    A report of the recovery was made last Thursday, July 30.

     

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office K-9 roundup

    The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

    From July 27-Aug. 2, deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Enforcement Team answered 26 calls and made three drug arrests.

    K-9 deputies patrolled the following communities: Ocean Ridge, Waterford, Holden Beach, Birch Creek, Shell Point Acres and Lakes of Lockwood.

    The following suspects were charged. All information is taken directly from arrest reports and citations.

  • District Court Docket

    The following cases were adjudicated over five days of District Criminal Court on July 22, 23, 24, 27 and 28 in Bolivia.

    Wednesday, July 22

    Marion R. Warren presided over the following cases with prosecutor Cathi Radford and courtroom clerk and Lisa Quick:

    Charles R. Abercrombie, unsafe movement, voluntarily dismissed.

    Arlethea Marie Adams, speeding 66 in a 55 zone, costs.

    James Marvin Adomat, fail to wear seat belt/driver, paid; no operator’s license, drive/allow motor vehicle no registration, both voluntarily dismissed.

  • SHALLOTTE CRIME REPORT

    Shallotte Police charged the following people and investigated the following incidents during the past week.

    •Police charged Zachery Allen Cellner, 18, of 2649 Sunnyside School Road, Fayetteville, with possession of a weapon of mass destruction (a shotgun), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $10,000 secured bond.

    •Auto larceny of a truck on Main Street; suspect took a $2,500 commercial truck without the owner’s permission.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office ACE roundup

    The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county. The ACE team conducts driving while impaired and driver’s license checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances.

    The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Property damage on Pembroke Street in Ocean Isle Beach; suspect damaged victim’s floor and closet wall.

    •Breaking and entering, larceny and property damage on Wine View Court in Bolivia; suspect broke into victim’s house and stole a Nintendo system and Nintendo games.

    •Property damage on McMilly Road in Shallotte; suspect broke window of victim’s truck.

  • Holden Beach police reports

    Holden Beach Police officers investigated the following incidents and charged the following suspects from July 28-Aug. 3. All information is taken directly from police incident reports and citations.

    •Larceny on Ocean Boulevard West; suspect stole a flag from victim’s home.

    •Larceny on High Point Street; suspect stole a wooden statue from victim’s home.

    •Breaking and entering, larceny from a motor vehicle and vandalism on Brunswick Avenue East.

    •Breaking and entering on Ocean Boulevard West.

  • SHALLOTTE CRIME REPORT

    Shallotte Police charged the following people and investigated the following incidents during the past week.

    •Police charged Melissa Dawn Bass, 24, of 124 NW 23rd St., Oak Island, with driving while impaired. She was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center.

    •Police charged Joshua Donald Wilson, 24, of 2530 Big Neck Road, Ash, with driving while impaired. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center on a $1,000 secured bond.

    •Prostitution in Hill’s parking lot; suspect propositioned victim and kept following her.
