    The following cases were adjudicated over five days of District Criminal Court on Feb. 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10 in Bolivia.

    Wednesday, Feb. 4

    Judge Bruce Morton presided over the following cases with prosecutor Cathi Radford and courtroom clerk and Michelle Warth:

    Bobby Ray Anderson, expired registration card/tag, driving while license revoked, both voluntarily dismissed.

    Peter Cinelli, simple assault, communicating threats, both voluntarily dismissed per plaintiff.

    Kedra Denise Farlow, second-degree trespass, voluntarily dismissed.

  • Charlotte woman arrested for identity fraud, theft involving Sunset Beach resident

    A Charlotte woman was arrested last week in connection with identity fraud involving a Sunset Beach resident.

    Yolanda Faye Young, 39, was in the Mecklenburg County jail after being charged Feb. 18 with theft of more than $8,000 in gift cards and merchandise from a Belk store in South Park Mall in Charlotte.

  • Ocean Isle Beach Crime Report

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from police incident/investigation reports.

    •Property damage on East Third Street; suspect used a large piece of asphalt to break several windows.

    •Breaking and entering and larceny on East Second Street; suspect entered home and stole a DVD player, 13-inch color TV and a 13-inch color TV with a DVD player, valued at $400.

  • Supply man arrested for kidnapping, larceny, robbery at Walmart

    Shallotte Police on Monday night arrested a Supply man for stealing a gun, kidnapping an elderly woman and stealing her vehicle Monday morning at Walmart.

    Members of the Sunset Beach Police and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office K-9 Roundup

    The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

    From Feb. 16-22, deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Enforcement Team answered 24 calls and issued 16 uniformed citations.

    The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Property damage on Bluff Drive in Leland; suspect damaged victim’s car window.

    •Larceny of a motor vehicle on Whiteville Road; suspect loaded truck on a trailer and took it from an impound lot.

    •Larceny on Benton Road in Bolivia; suspect stole victim’s trailer.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office drug report

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit made the following arrests. The suspects and their charges, which are taken directly from arrest reports and citations, are:

    •Tammie Lynn Daniels, 46, of 2072 Ward Road, Longwood; charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession of ½ ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Grand jury indictments for Feb. 9

    The Brunswick County Grand Jury under the direction of Judge Ola Lewis with prosecutor Rex Gore and courtroom clerk Kay Fowler returned the following indictments during a Superior Court session on Feb. 9:

    Willie James Bellamy, 20, of 2056 Inland Drive, Ocean Isle Beach; five counts felony breaking and/or entering, three counts felony larceny after breaking/entering.

    James R. Bethea, 17, of 2056 Inland Drive, Ocean Isle Beach; eight counts felony breaking and/or entering, six counts felony larceny after breaking/entering.
