  • ACE team report

    The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county.

    The ACE team conducts driving while impaired, driver’s license and criminal information checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances. The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office drug report

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit made the following arrests last week. The suspects and their charges, which are taken directly from arrest reports, are:

    •Rudolph Bellamy, 50, of 802 Randolphville Road, Bolivia; charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports.

    •Breaking and entering, larceny and property damage on Deer Trace Street in Supply; suspect broke into victim’s residence and stole a TV and an Xbox.

    •Larceny on Ocean Highway West in Carolina Shores; suspect stole several newspaper boxes.

    •Breaking and entering and larceny on Bristol Street in Sunset Harbor; suspect stole victim’s electric scooter.

  • Abandoned house burned; no injuries reported

    An abandoned house on Big Macedonia Road in Supply was burned down last week, but no one lived in the home, and no injuries were reported.

    According to a sheriff’s office incident report, a person started a fire at 384 Big Macedonia Road on Monday, Dec. 22. The suspect was still at the scene was responders arrived, Garner said. No charges will be filed, because Garner said the man who set the blaze was set to inherit the property where the house was, and he did not file an insurance claim.

  • District Court Docket

    The following cases were adjudicated over four days of District Criminal Court on Dec. 17, 18, 19 and 22 in Bolivia.

    Wednesday, Dec. 17

    Judge Jerry A. Jolly presided over the following cases with prosecutor Cathi Radford and courtroom clerk and Michelle Warth:

    Amanda Lynn Archer, speeding 55 in a 45 zone, prayer for judgment continued and costs.

    Dove Danita Avylla, improper equipment, costs.

    Mark Dewayne Barnhill, unsafe movement, costs.

    James Judson Baxley, improper equipment, costs.

  • Ocean Isle Beach crime report

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated a breaking and entering and property damage on Isle Plaza this week.

    According to a police report, an unknown subject broke into a home by forcing the side door open. The side latch was damaged, and the doorknob bolt damaged the molding.

    The homeowners reported nothing missing.

    Wednesday, Dec. 10

    Judge Marion R. Warren presided over the following cases with prosecutor Cathi Radford and courtroom clerk and Lisa Quick:

    Gordon Everett Albro, improper equipment, costs.

    Tiffany Michelle Aldana, driving while license revoked, fictitious/canceled/revoked registration card/tag, both voluntarily dismissed.

    Chauncey Lee Anderson, possession marijuana up to one-half ounce, voluntarily dismissed.

    Leland police officers investigated the following incidents and issued the following charges last week. All information is taken directly from patrol activity reports.

    •Larceny on Parkland Way; suspect stole an air conditioner unit.

    •Larceny on Village Road; suspect broke into victim’s utility trailer and stole a blower.

    •Larceny on Reed Road; suspect stole four Playstation 3 video games from the Movie Gallery and fled the scene.

    •Breaking and entering and larceny on Cottonwood Lane; suspects stole victim’s jewelry.

  • K-9 Enforcement Team roundup

    The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

    Deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Enforcement Team from Dec. 15-21 answered 21 calls, issued 20 uniformed citations and 25 total charges.
