  • UNC-Chapel Hill students honored

    The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill recognized 6,405 students for outstanding academic achievement through their selection for the dean’s list for spring 2011.

  • Students earn honors, get awards at Waccamaw School

    Waccamaw School has announced its honor rolls for the fourth nine-week grading period of the school year. The following students were honored:
    Principal’s award

  • Students win First Night button contest

    The winner of the admission button contest for Shallotte’s First Night New Year’s Eve event is Maelene Naftzger from South Brunswick Middle School. Runners-up were Makenna Jahr from Shallotte Middle School and Bailey Walker from Cedar Grove Middle School.

  • Bolivia students make honor roll, earn awards

  • Students participate in photography workshop

    On Saturday, May 21, eight Brunswick County 4-H TiLT (Teens in Leadership Training) members participated in a photography and presentation workshop. Participants included John and Dillon Bernheisel, Kenan Bridges, Will Gauldin, Janzen Jones, Sammi Lawrence, John Macon and Savanna Michaux.

  • BCC faculty take part in internships

    Four Brunswick Community College faculty members recently interned at six local businesses/agencies as part of the College Tech Prep Faculty Internship Program that took place in May, typically interning from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. College Tech Prep grant funds made it possible to pay faculty members daily stipends of $150 for a maximum of five days to intern in local businesses and agencies.

    Think about a football team that scrimmages all year but ends the season never playing a game. Imagine an orchestra that practices for nine months but ends their year never holding a concert. Think of an artist who paints all year in her studio but never exhibits her work in a gallery.

    Graduates and their friends and families took refuge from the heat Saturday, May 15, as Campbell University had its spring commencement ceremony in the spacious new John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center.
