An attorney for the Brunswick County Board of Education has filed a motion in U.S. District Court to dismiss a lawsuit filed by a Brunswick County schools employee in August.
Kathleen Tanner, the board of education’s attorney, filed the motion to dismiss the lawsuit Sept. 25.
“We have asked the court to dismiss the entire lawsuit, because Ms. Williams has failed to state a claim of discrimination or retaliation,” Tanner wrote in an e-mail to the Beacon.
“We will look for a ruling from the court in the next six months or so.”
