SUPPLY—More charges have been levied against a Leland couple arrested during an Aug. 3 puppy-mill bust.
Amelia Millis, 62, and Andrew Millis, 64, each now face 24 counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals, said Sgt. Tommy Tolley, director of Brunswick County Animal Protective Services.
Tuesday, both were still in the Brunswick County Detention Center in Bolivia each on $1.5 million bonds.
“The very important thing about it is those two owners did surrender all animals to [the Humane Society of the United States],” Tolley said.
