House Bill 1305, which amends the coastal homeowners’ insurance pool known as the Beach Plan, passed in the state Senate and House last week.
The bill now awaits Gov. Bev Perdue’s signature.
A Perdue spokesperson said Perdue would sign the bill, “in the next couple weeks.”
Introduced in the House on April 9 by Rep. Hugh Holliman, D-Davidson, the bill passed in the Senate 42 votes to 5 votes Aug. 5, and 92 votes to 19 when it went back to the House Aug. 6.
