  • Sunset Beach developer faces fraud charge

    A Sunset Beach developer has been charged with fraud and obtaining money by false pretenses.

    Richard Mace Watts Jr., 43, of 4528 River Road in Little River, S.C., was served with an outstanding warrant Nov. 22 on North Shore Drive East in Sunset Beach.

    Larceny; Wal-Mart loss prevention personnel saw a juvenile steal merchandise from the business. Juvenile was cited and released.

    Two-vehicle crash on Village Road resulting in personal and property damage.

    Nov. 28

    David Cosme, 38, 1227 High St., Shallotte, cited and released for stealing merchandise from Wal-Mart on New Pointe Boulevard.

    Breaking and entering and larceny of $565 from a Cheers Street business.

  • Calabash Fire Department Nov. 2014

    During the month of November, the Calabash Fire Department responded to 146 calls: six structure fires, five fire alarms, three motor vehicle accidents, three investigations, 20 public assistance calls, an other and 108 EMS first-response calls.
