    Larceny of copper wiring from a residence under construction on Springstone Drive.

    Obtain property by false pretense; an unknown man bought merchandise from a business on East Cutlar Crossing using a counterfeit travelers check.

  • Calabash Fire Department reports Sept. 2014

    During the month of September, the Calabash Fire Department responded to 172 calls: seven structure fires, one woods/brush fire, six fire alarms, five motor vehicle accidents, one gas leak, one investigation, five other, 17 public assistance and 128 EMS first-response calls.

    September 23

    Kennan Scott Jones, 22, 806 E. Moore St., Southport, arrested on a felony charge of assault on an officer and a misdemeanor charge of assault on a female.

    September 24

    Joseph Earl Hill, 61, 1046 Hale Swamp Road, Shallotte, arrested on misdemeanor charges of shoplifting and trespassing.

    Rodney Hampton was arrested and charged with driving while impaired after being involved in a two vehicle traffic crash on Village Road that resulted in property damage.

    Austin Jay Tharpe, 21, 2382 Butler Circle NW, Ash, cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Property damage by someone pushing a shopping cart into a vehicle parked in Walmart parking lot.
