  • BCSO offers reward in Longwood fatal shooting case

    The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the shooting death of a Longwood man.

    Anthony Scott Beers, 30, died early Sunday morning, Dec. 10, after being taken to Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

    He was shot about 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, in the area of Carlon and George Daniels roads in the Longwood community, according to a sheriff’s office news release that called the case an ongoing homicide investigation.

    Medication delivered by FedEx reported stolen from an address on Baroney Place Drive.

    Someone broke into an Arnold Bread truck on Clippers Way and stole 12 packs of Arnold snacks.

    Communicating threats reported at the Sunset Beach Fishing Pier. Someone’s vehicle got booted for not paying to park and pier owners were threatened.

    Richard Borelli Pearson, 40, was arrested on charges of felony larceny, shoplifting and misdemeanor trespassing.

    Jeffrey Todd Sammons, 35, was arrested on charges of felony burglary and misdemeanor larceny from a motor vehicle.

    Obtaining property by false pretense by using a fake re-loadable Visa card to receive items totaling $15,000.
