  • SBPD June 7-10 2016

    Sunset Beach police investigated the following incidents and made the following arrest. All information is taken directly from incident and arrest reports.

    June 7

    Gary Andre Wilson, 30, of 788 Freemont Road, Longs, S.C., was charged with felony fleeing to elude with motor vehicle, carrying concealed weapon, DWI, no driver’s license, careless and reckless, failing to stop at red light and open container.

    June 8

    Larceny of golf items reported on Lake Shore Drive.

    May 27

    Injury to personal property; someone damaged the victim’s vehicle parked on Orleans Street.

    May 28

    Troy Allen Ford was arrested on the charge of larceny by employee.

    Deandrez Tyrik Robbins was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a concealed gun.

    Larceny; someone pushed a shopping cart containing two air conditioning units worth $474 out of Wal-Mart without paying for them.

    Larceny; someone concealed a two-way radio worth $79 in his pants and left Wal-Mart without paying for it.

    May 28

    Larceny of baby formula worth $184.59 from Wal-Mart.

  • Calabash Fire Department May 2016

    During the month of May, the Calabash Fire Department responded to 137 calls: three structure fires, a woods/brush fire, four fire alarms, five motor vehicle accidents, two gas leaks, two investigations, 12 public assistance calls, an other and 107 EMS first response calls.

    Larceny of a golf bag and firearm reported at Sea Trail Golf Club.

  • Firearms stolen from Calabash residence

    The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of firearms and other items from a Calabash residence.

    The break-in and theft were reported May 22 at 680 Persimmon Road. Among the firearms reported stolen were a semi-automatic handgun, a .38 special, a 22-gauge rifle, a 12-gauge pump action shotgun, a 20-gauge single-barrel shotgun, a 12-gauge double-barrel shotgun, a 30/30 shotgun, SK-47 fixed bayonets and a black powder custom-made muzzle loader.

    James Christopher Jacobs was arrested on charges of assault, drunk and disruptive, larceny, property damage and possession of a schedule VI controlled substance.

    Michael Colon was arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer.

    Larceny of a wallet the victim left on a counter and walked away from briefly at the New Pointe Boulevard Wal-Mart.

    Hit and run traffic crash on Fairview and Village roads resulting in property damage.
