  • Holden Beach Police report

    The Holden Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests in the last two weeks. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

    Dec. 2

    Breaking and entering, non-forced entry, and larceny of a refrigerator valued at $2,500 from residence on Ocean Boulevard West.

    Dec. 4

    Breaking and entering, non-forced entry, and larceny of a 28 inch flat screen television and a DVD player valued at a total of $350 from residence on Burlington Street.

    Dec. 12

    Tyler Kinlaw, 19, 2371 Captain’s Wheel Ave., Supply, cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Dec. 14

    Mindy Marie Sellers, 32, 35 Junction Way SE, Supply, cited for shoplifting $46.83 worth of miscellaneous items from Walmart.

  • Sunset Beach police report

    Sunset Beach police investigated a breaking-and-entering reported Dec. 10 at an address on Crooked Gulley Circle. Jewelry was reported stolen. 

  • Sunset Beach police report

    Sunset Beach police investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests.

    Breaking-and-entering and injury to real property at Sunset Slush, 426 S. Sunset Blvd. reported Nov. 18.

    Larceny of two bicycles was reported Nov. 23 on White Heron Court.

    Larceny of one bicycle was reported Nov. 23 at a unit at 215 Clubhouse Road.

    Ryan Patrick Ridge, 26, of 687 Bullrush Court, Calabash, was charged Nov. 20 with reckless driving to endanger, injury to real property and hit-and-run.

  • Calabash fire report

    During the month of November, the Calabash Fire Department responded to 150 calls: nine structure fires, five fire alarms, five woods/brush fires, three motor vehicle accidents, eight public assistance, two other, and 118 EMS first-response calls.

  • Leland Police report

    Leland Police investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests in the last two weeks. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

    Nov. 19

    Larceny of a motor vehicle from Grandiflora Drive.

    Larceny of equipment from a truck bed of a vehicle parked on Town Lake Drive.

    Nov. 20

    Trespassing on Olde Waterford Way after causing a disturbance.

    Traffic crash, hit and run on Village Road. Suspect hit a parked car then fled the scene.

    Anthony Michael Piotroski, 21, 130 NE 76th St., Oak Island, arrested for breaking and entering.

    Vandalism of side mirror on truck parked at Lowe’s Home Improvement.

  • Sunset Beach police report

    The Sunset Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents.

    A Yamaha Wave Runner was reported stolen Friday, Nov. 15, from an address on Twisted Oak Lane.

    An attempted breaking-and-entering at Sandpiper Bay Clubhouse at 800 Sandpiper Bay Club Drive was reported Nov. 15. The would-be thieves did not make entry, and an audible alarm scared them away.

  • Sunset Beach Police Department

    Sunset Beach police arrested two women in a domestic disturbance.

    Amanda Sue Ellen Powell, 27, and Diane Powell, 54, both of 1151 Indigo Circle, were each charged Nov. 9 with simple assault.

    In a separate incident, Jonathan Andrew Gore, 24, of 4033 Bryan St., Little River, S.C., was charged Nov. 7 with possession of heroin, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Larceny of medication by someone who picked up someone else’s prescription at CVS.

    Vandalism of a vehicle, breaking a bug deflector and scratching both doors, parked at Walmart.

    Oct. 29

    Ezekiel David McKnight, 20, 4559 Tavia Lane SW, cited for shoplifting from Walmart.
