Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a man missing from Supply.

Tracy Paul Whalen, 40, was reporting missing Sunday, May 30, and has been missing for about a week, Sgt. April Stanley, sheriff’s office spokesperson, said.

Stanley said it was unusual for Whalen to be away from his home for such a long time. No foul play is suspected in the case.

Whalen is a white male. He is 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighs 205 pounds. He has blue eyes and blond hair, and has a tattoo of a wolf on his left arm.

A 21-year old man was arrested Saturday after he was found with a 14-year-old girl who was reported missing the previous day.

On Friday, June 4, Rachel Owens was reported missing after she did not return home from a Cedar Grove Middle School dance, according to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. April Stanley. 

BOLIVIA—A Brunswick County jury on Tuesday convicted 21-year-old Joshua Caudill of first-degree murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Assistant district attorney Lee Bollinger said the jury deliberated for about one hour and 20 minutes Tuesday afternoon before returning the guilty verdict for Caudill’s role in the 2007 murder of Phillip Cook.

Asheboro Police have no suspects in the murder of 22-year-old Shaunna Walley, the Ash native living in Asheboro who was found dead May 18.

Walley was found dead around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, several feet from a trail off Brewer Street in Asheboro by a person walking along the trail, Asheboro Police Lt. Richard Thompson said.

Walley’s great uncle, Jeff Carll, said Walley, who grew up in the Ash area and has ties to the Brunswick County community, had been living in Asheboro for about a year and a half.
