  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Breaking and entering and larceny on Alvin Street in Supply; suspect broke down back door window and took various items.

    •Larceny on Big Macedonia Road in Supply; suspect took a black purse with various bank cards.

    •Larceny and property damage on Running Brook Trail in Supply; suspect broke side door and took a PlayStation game console and a flat-screen TV.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office ACE roundup

    The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county. The ACE team conducts driving while impaired and driver’s license checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances.

    The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.

  • Ocean Isle Beach Crime Report

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents from Jan. 19-30. All information is taken directly from police incident reports.

    •Breaking and entering, larceny and property damage on Isle Plaza; suspect removed a chop saw and power washer from storage room.

    •Breaking and entering and larceny on West First Street; suspect entered house and took four flat-screen TVs and a Blu-ray player.

    •Breaking and entering and property damage on West Second Street; suspect damaged door and window with a pry tool.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office K-9 Enforcement Team roundup

    The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

    From Jan. 24-Jan 31, K-9 deputies answered 10 calls, wrote 15 citations and made nine drug arrests. Deputies patrolled the following communities: Longwood, Supply, North end, Calabash, Mulberry, Cedar Grove, Turkey Trap and McMilly Road.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office drug report

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit charged the following suspects last week:

    •Maria C. Cacciabaudo, 43, of 405 Navassa Court, Little River, S.C., was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • One brother arrested, second brother wanted for multiple larceny offenses

    SUPPLY—One brother is in custody and a second brother is wanted for a months-long string of breaking and entering offenses throughout Brunswick County.

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley said sheriff’s deputies assisted in the arrest of James Taylor Beaver in the Supply area Tuesday night.

    James Taylor Beaver’s brother, Thomas Fletcher Beaver, is a wanted suspect.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office drug report

    Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the following suspects:

    •Lisa Barfield Kotecki, 47, of 1472-2 Copas Road, Shallotte, was arrested Jan. 4 and charged with conspiracy to deliver a schedule II controlled substance, sell a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture a schedule II controlled substance, trafficking in opium or heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Larceny of a motor vehicle on North Howe Street in Southport; suspect hauled off victim’s vehicle that was not running.

    •Breaking and entering and larceny on Mulligan Way in Bolivia; suspect broke into victim’s back door and stole items.

    From Jan. 16-23, K-9 deputies answered nine calls, wrote 10 citations and made nine drug arrests and issued 11 drug charges.

    Seven grams of marijuana and one marijuana plant were seized.
