  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    •Larceny, property damage and breaking and entering on Stanley Road in Supply; suspect came in and damaged a fence, ground wire setup while taking copper wire.

    •Property and breaking and damage on Buckeye Road in Supply; suspect damaged shed door while entering.

    •Property damage and breaking and entering on Oyster Lane in Supply; suspect entered shed by breaking down door.

    •Property damage and breaking and entering on Oyster Lane in Supply; suspect broke clasp on shed and entered.

  • Ocean Isle Beach Crime Report

     

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents during the past two weeks. All information is taken directly from police incident reports.

    •Breaking and entering and misdemeanor larceny on Richmond Street; subject removed generator and downrigger and mount from garage.

    •Robert Lee Vaughan, 25, of Shallotte; subject was wanted by state officials.

  • Thefts investigated in Sunset Beach

    SUNSET BEACH—Police investigated a larceny reported Monday, Jan. 17, at the Food Lion in Sunset Beach.

    A woman told police she had left her purse in the checkout aisle and left the store. According to a police report, an “unknown” person behind her in the line picked up the purse, set it in a buggy and walked out with it.

    A break-in and larceny were reported Jan. 11 at a residence on Cypress Court. Entry was made with a key, according to a police report.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office K-9 Roundup

    The K-9 enforcement team answers calls, conducts driver’s license checkpoints and assists with other agencies when K-9s are needed.

    From Jan. 3-9, K-9 deputies answered six calls, wrote seven citations and made six drug arrests. Deputies patrolled Green Bay Village and set up checkpoints at Lackey Road at Mount Misery Road.

    K-9 deputies charged the following suspects:

    •Melinda Vernett Muldrow, 40, of 1616 Shaw Highway, Rocky Point, was charged with possession of one-half ounce or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Property damage on Green Hill Road in Winnabow; suspect knocked down victim’s mailboxes with vehicle.

    •Property damage on Green Hill Road in Winnabow; suspect ran off road and damaged victim’s mailbox.

    •Property damage on Green Hill Road in Winnabow; suspect ran off the road with vehicle and knocked down victim’s mailbox.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office ACE roundup

    The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team is a support unit, whose primary functions are traffic enforcement and assisting in the apprehension of drug traffickers in the county. The ACE team conducts driving while impaired and driver’s license checkpoints, as well as street-level investigations on controlled substances.
    The ACE team works with the sheriff’s office K-9 Enforcement Team and Drug Enforcement Unit to apprehend narcotics suspects as well as saturating hot spots where criminal activity is reported.

  • Burglary in Sunset Beach

    SUNSET BEACH—A break-in was reported Jan. 9 at a villa on Kings Trail.

    Someone entered through a back door. Jewelry and $300 cash were among items reported stolen.

  • Lakewood Estates incident under investigation

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an alleged New Year’s Day assault in the Lakewood Estates neighborhood near Ocean Isle Beach.

    According to a Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office incident report, assault inflicting serious injury was reported on Lakewood Drive around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1.

    The report states “subjects dragged victim 1 out of vehicle and assaulted him.”

  • Ocean Isle Beach Police Department

    The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department investigated the following incidents last week. All information is taken directly from police incident reports.

    •Breaking and entering, larceny and property damage on Union Street; suspect kicked door under the house to gain entry and took three flat-screen TVs, fishing equipment, a cordless telephone and computer printer.

    •Breaking and entering and larceny on East Fourth Street; suspect entered garage and home and took fishing poles and nets, a deep dryer and tools.
