  • Supply man arrested in pizza armed robbery

    SUPPLY—Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Supply man for an armed robbery in which he stole a pizza.

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley said investigators responded to the armed robbery around 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.

    The victim told law enforcement he was delivering a Domino’s Pizza to an area home, when he was threatened and forced to hand over the pizzas.

  • Detectives investigating armed robbery at sweepstakes café

    SUPPLY—Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are searching for suspects responsible for the armed robbery of a Supply sweepstakes café early last Saturday morning.

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. April Stanley said shortly after 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, two male suspects entered the Gold Strike Internet Sweepstakes Café at 2869 Holden Beach Road in Supply.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents last week, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Breaking and entering and larceny on Fleetwood Drive in Southport; suspect stole victim’s fishing rods and reels from his house.

    •Larceny of a motor vehicle on Andrew Jackson Highway in Leland; suspect stole victim’s vehicle.

    •Larceny on Galloway Road NE in Bolivia; suspect entered victim’s property and stole a dog box.

  • Shallotte Crime Report

     The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

    •Breaking and entering and larceny of GPS on Brooks Court; suspect opened door to vehicle and removed a GPS.

    •Shoplifting at Food Lion; suspect took a 20-ounce drink without paying.

  • Arrests made in Sunset Beach

    SUNSET BEACH—Town police made the following arrests in the past week.

    •Maurice Dallas Moore, 24, of Augusta, S.C., was arrested for DWI Sept. 18.

    •Donna Kayleena Knollenberg, 28, of Evans, Ga., was arrested Sept. 18 for disorderly conduct.

    •Rhonda Michelle Bass, 41, of Laurinburg, was charged on outstanding warrants for driving while license revoked from Richmond County.

    •Jeremy C. Moore, 35, of Calabash, was arrested Sept. 14 for driving while impaired and possession of a Schedule III substance.

  • UPDATED: Sheriff’s detectives arrest wanted shooting suspect

    UPDATE: Deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit arrested Joseph Kelly late Wednesday evening. Kelly, 19, of 3098 Shell Point Road, Supply, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a felon and assault and battery. Kelly was taken to the detention center, where he was placed under a $40,000 secured bond.

    SUPPLY—Brunswick County Sheriff’s detectives are searching for a suspect wanted for an early-morning shooting Tuesday.

  • Shallotte Crime Report

     The Shallotte Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests last week. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

    •Armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, breaking and entering and larceny in the Walmart parking lot by removing the victim’s vehicle, assaulting them and taking property. Victims reported being attacked by five males at gunpoint.

  • Arrests made in Sunset Beach

    SUNSET BEACH—Local police have made two arrests in the past week.

    •Ricky Allen Norris, 34, of 7071 Hughes Smith Road, Ash, was arrested Sept. 11 on outstanding warrants from Brunswick County.

    •Lindsay Marie Bullock, 25, of Eastbrook Avenue, Ocean Isle Beach, was charged Sept. 9 for no operator’s license and outstanding warrants.

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office crime report

    Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the following incidents, which are taken directly from sheriff’s office incident reports:

    •Larceny on Azalea Drive in Supply; suspect reached through a damaged window and stole victim’s medication.

    •Larceny on Boones Neck Road in Supply; suspect stole a moped from victim’s residence.

    •Burglary and vandalism on River Street in Supply; suspect pried open back door to victim’s trailer.

  • ‘Hands Across the Border’ checkpoint nets 12 DWI charges

    Every year during Labor Day weekend, law enforcement officers from across the region converge at the state line to conduct the “Hands Across the Border” checkpoint.

    Fifty-six officers from multiple local and state agencies conducted the checkpoint, which began at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, and ran until 3 a.m. the next morning.

    Officers set up checkpoints on U.S. 17 at the North Carolina-South Carolina border, N.C. 179 at the state line and on Hickman Road on the state line.
